Imagine living your life paralyzed by irrational fear to the point where being afraid of something that has a 0.0002% chance of happening (and an even smaller chance than that if you're not a drug dealer or gang member) is more important than something like walkability which has a guaranteed, direct, significant positive impact on your life literally every day.
I hope nobody shows you the statistics on how much more likely you are to die in a car crash because you have to drive everywhere living in the suburbs. You'll have to move to a bunker somewhere and never leave.
