In terms of level of difficulty to play, everyone can debate, but in terms of finding someone who can actually play that position properly, yeah. Left winger and actually center forward. How many teams do we know of that have a scoring problem?

I look at my daughter’s club. The coaches were all defenders. I can not help but wonder if there is a bias there. At the younger ages, they seem to select for defenders- aggressive fast/physical girls. The few technical/creative girls never fit and I think they do not know what to do with them.

My HS age DD has been on many teams where the top players were all back line and holding mid players. The plan is to build the attack from the back and not give up easy goals. Lots of 1-0 games, but successful results. A forward or mid will moved to be a 5th defender if they were winning late in the match.

Center mid (1) and sweeper (2) are most demanding, IMHO. 'Most difficult'? that depends on so many things...

Sweeper? 1989 just called and they want their position back.

Touché, my friend. Indeed I played D2 1990-1994.

Just ribbing you--hadn't heard it for a long time.

People laugh about that, but our US versions of sunday league teams often still use this system because we grew up with it. In case you are wondering why, the sweeper/stopper system went out of fashion because if you have a back four, having wing backs that overlap up instead of a center back that roams forward makes so much more sense, is more reliable, safer and more productive. Teams often still have a deep six playing that stopper kind of role.

Is it harder to play Attacking Midfielder or Holding Midfielder?

Secondly, is there many left footed (or both footed) girls to play left forward? I would like this position is hard to fill as there aren’t many left/both footed players.

Too many variables that are not hammered home here in the U.S. As far as most important? I think it would be the players on the spine. Goalie, Center back, defensive mid, attacking mid and striker.

+1 on the spine. A team is only as good as the Goalie, CBs, CMs and Striker.
