After this weeks craziness with Trump and DOJ to burn "law and order" down, Barr got Trump's permission to disagree with him to distract the media. Expect some tweetstorm about Barr, and media speculation about when he would be fired while "law and order" is subverted in the background.


Senior level White House sources insisted to ABC News that the president and top aides were unaware of Barr’s intentions in the interview and were informed of the content only just before it aired.

The White House had no immediate comment.

CNN reporting Trump not upset with Barr.

Barr has pulled it off. He’s created the appearance of independence from Trump to salvage his reputation. The rank and file won’t buy it, though. The rot in Main Justice still stinks.

This sums it up, Barr admitted to intervening because it was a case related to the President. Frankly, it doesn't matter whether the President called for it or not. That isn't how the DOJ is supposed to work.
