You very well know that it doesn’t take five minutes for them to cross the road. You were impatient and could’ve waited.
Now legally speaking, I don’t think anyone can do anything to you and you should just keep quiet and hope your house doesn’t get toilet papered.
"Show concern"? WTH. You mean look to see if it's injured and take it to the vet??? It's not a pet. You people are crazy.
Yes, I might be crazy. But if I hit or injure another living thing it does concern me. I’m OK to be in the minority on this and I really don’t care what random Internet strangers think.
So you expect that if someone accidentally runs over a goose, they should take it to the vet and have it treated? I agree that calling animal control to remove an injured or dead animal is a good idea.

If you left a dead goose in the middle of the road and went home, even goose haters (hi!) will have a problem with that. You can't leave dead animals in the street and be a good neighbor.
OP here, I nicked it but in my rear view mirror looked to be....still.

Huh? Of course you can leave a dead animal in the road. I'm not getting out of my car to drag some wild animal carcass to the curb. Or what, put it in my car and drive it to the dump? You must be kidding.

DP- You call the animal control officer to remove it.![]()
Op, the above poster is correct - did you kill it and leave? Leave it in obvious pain and suffering? Or truly nick it and it waffles away?
