Between school, work, and our dojo there are at least 3 bugs going around right now. And that doesn't even include regular colds and the flu.

I had literally half my girl scout troop out Monday evening.

Honestly, OP, just be glad they were considerate enough not to come spread their germs all over.

I also bet there were at least one or two people that were wary of bringing their kids to germ-infested venues. Every winter party we've been to at a bounce house has resulted in a sick child a few days later...

Cold/flu season seems especially bad this year.

Yes, several different sicknesses are making the rounds. It does seem more than usual.

'Tis the (cold and flu) season, OP. Half my office is sick and half my kid's preschool class is constantly out.

Yeah, it stinks, but... we had to cancel my nine year-olds second birthday party because she had a nasty virus. Certainly harder when the kids are older and realize what's going on.

I too prefer to avoid indoor play spaces during flu season. I swear I got strep from Chuck E Cheese once. If it's a good friend, I'll send the kids and just make sure they wash hands well before we leave, and remind them going in to try not to touch their eyes or face. We've all had the flu shot this year, but that only goes so far All that to say - for our winter birthday kid, we've steered toward smaller parties at home, or outdoor parties like ice skating.

Happened to us one year. We had a newborn so I think people were extra cautious about not coming if they had even a little sniffle. It was already a small group, so we ended up with one party guest for my 3 yo’s party, but they still had fun and I was grateful people didn’t show up sick.

Learn to read, troll. Pp said two parties.

So you didn’t go even though your kid wasn’t sick. You didn’t want him to get sick from a play place?

I can’t change the month my children were born.

My son was born December 15th. We will do a spring party this year after two years of illness around his birthday.
