No one is going to pay $20k for your used Odyssey when they can pay $15k for a used Pacifica with more features.

There are *PLENTY* of people willing to pay an outrageous amount of money for a 2-3 year old Honda Odyssey because they believe the worst part of the depreciation has already occured. Since 2006 our family has owned 4 Odysseys. The best deal so far has been one we bought for $33,000 that we sold 3 years later for $29,500.

This last one may be an exception, however. We went all out on an Elite and plan to hold on to it for a bit longer than usual, maybe 6-10 years.

If you buy new cars frequently by all means get a honda. We've driven two town and country's into the ground and are loving our 2017 Pacifica.

These new ones won’t. The new ones are total junk.

Thank you all for the comments. We just bought a certified pre owned Chrysler Pacifica with very low miles on it. It does come with 100,000 powertrain warranty, which swayed my mind. So far so good.

Congrats and enjoy!

I’m worried about resale. My Odyssey’s have had great resale when I go to get a new car.

I'm surprised to hear that Toyotas are "too expensive". We're on Toyota Sienna #2 and really like them. Both were used (max 30K miles, mid-tier model with power package), and neither cost more than $20K. We bought the 2011 in 2012 in the dead of winter and got a stupidly good deal on both it and trade-in for the 2007 we currently had.

We have a 2018 (bought used in 2019). It runs well, fits everyone, and has all the features we wanted. We rented a few of them for both long (MD to FL) and short (MD to PA) trips to be sure that we like it and I have to say that I've never regretted the purchase. It has been almost a year and not a problem with it so far.

I love my Pacifica and got the sports package with red leather seats.
