The patent for summer must be a regional thing (new england?). My family is Mediterranean, and I can tell you that patent (especially black patent) is considered a winter material. I honestly can't imagine wearing close-toed patent pumps in the summer -- they'll turn your feet into a sauna! Knee length dress, patent pumps, hose -- how is than anything but a winter outfit?
