This was my experience too! I thought I was all those things, but found swarthmore shattered my confidence. It is very rigorous! I think it is an excellent school for the right student.

No. Carleton is a lot more happy and laidback, though just as academically serious as Swarthmore. Carleton's closest east coast competitor would be Williams.
Swarthmore is more like a mini-UChicago.
