I've slept with a few married men in my twenties. I never thought of it as dating, and we were both just having fun. They never contemplated leaving their families for me, and I never thought that they would, or wanted them to. It was just a phase.

I got married in my thirties. I'm now near fifty, still married, with three kids. I don't regret it any more than anything else, I very rarely think about it.

Mine ended up with PTSD. I left him after the affair and then he killed hkmself.

I was a mistress once in my 20’s and the way I rationalized it is that I did not want to break up the marriage - I was just having fun. I’m happily married now with kids and he seems happily married as well (FB). I think be went through a rough patch with his life when his children were young and that is when we were seeing each other. No idea if he is faithful now. But again, I didn’t and don’t feel guilty because it was relatively brief and I wasn’t breaking up a family.

Genuinely curious.

Usually until they find someone to settle down with. I tell them no hard feelings if that happens, and I"m genuinely happy for them if it does. We both know what we have is not going to last forever, but we're both fine with having some fun.

My situation may not be typical in that they aren't where I live. I travel a lot for work, and so I see them 2-3x a year when I'm on travel in that city.

I have a friend 10+ years, who in our past before his marriage
We were intimate, he’s been married two years.

Has reached out possibly couple of times since then


I have always liked being with/around this person, but I know we are from two different worlds

I’m on the fence of being a full fledge “mistress”

Why is the woman accountable and why are we using the word « mistress »? If a man puts himself out there and she is willing to do it/ has no issues with him being married, why is she to blame?
