We did RC and it was a blast. We never got sick or bored. We have travelled all over the world. The cruise was fun.

Less vulgar?

Have you ever done a southern or eastern Caribbean cruise? We have. We hire private drivers or charter a boat (we typically alternate at each port) and end up on gorgeous private beaches for the day. We eat local food on the beach or on the private boat. It’s amazing. But our kids have been spoiled: now they hate “crowded” beaches.

Your entire family will have a blast! Disney cruises are the best. The service is excellent. Everyone is friendly.

Some of the wealthiest, well traveled people I know do Disney cruises annually since they’re relaxing and fun. These are people who have literally been everywhere.

NPH cruises Disney with his family. Is he tacky?

You know what’s tacky? Criticizing things you’ve never done before. Lighten up, people.

For that reason alone, I’d never go on one.

This is a legitimate concern and a valid reason for avoiding cruises. But tackiness...no. Everybody likes different kinds of vacations. No one cares if you don't like my type of vacations. I certainly don't care about yours.

Agree. I don't see the appeal of cruises for my life/family, but I totally understand why others like them and wouldn't judge.

Nothing is inherently tacky. It’s a matter of perception. As you can see from the responses, many people see cruises as tacky. If that’s what you want to base your decision on, go for it. Otherwise just live your life regardless of what other people think.

I love tacky, and I love cruises, but I fail to see the value proposition in the Disney cruises. There are so many options out there, and I can’t see paying 2-3X to see Mickey and Minnie wandering around the ship. Plus, no casino, which we enjoy.

I couldn't care less if my vacation looks "tacky" to someone else. OP you should feel the same way. Don't worry about whether or not the haggards on here think it's tacky, or "low-class". If you like it, do it!

With regards to the Disney cruise - it's great! do it. Your kids will love it.

Cruises are great! I’ve never understood the hate. You can make them anything you want — nonstop action, relaxation, something in between. They’re fun in the sun and we like them.
