Husband and father here. I definitely would never think this is normal. If my wife treated me like that, she wouldn't be my wife.

I think it's a fairly common dynamic in our area, which is populated by a disproportionate number of Type A people (including women) and men who are more likely to be genuinely and enthusiastically involved with their children.

So you get this eager dad and anxious, micromanaging mom whose perspective is further clouded by post-partum hormones and things can get toxic in a hurry unless both parties practice some mindfulness.
