You will be disgusted to find out they only pick up trash once a week. I’ve lived in many places with municipal trash, and it was always several times a week. It’s particularly bad in the summer - we live in a townhouse and have to keep the cans in the garage, so it’s gross.
Re-examine your lifestyle if you are generating that much trash. We are a 6 person household, and we put trash out every two weeks or so. We generate much more recycling than we do actual trash.
+1 - family of 5. The county offers composting too (which goes in a separate bin than trash), so that should take care of a lot of food scraps. We used to live somewhere with twice per week pickup and would often skip one. No family should be filling an entire bin 2x per week.
