We are looking at UK unis. The only reason I wouldn't do it is the distance, and there is literally only one way to get there.. airplane. DC likes the idea that there is no concept of "general education" there.
No greek life but kids can go to pubs. The difference for you is your husband and his family are from the UK and probably have ties there. There will be just as much drinking and drugs. Don't look to justify something that is made up. Go because it would be a good experience.

Is that include room and board? If not, the state schools are much cheaper and you have to include travel costs.
