I am going to second PPs, why not Two Rivers 4th Street and Young campuses (if you are near miner, then neither are that far from you)- they are both lovely, warm schools that offer regular art, drama, music, gym, and spanish classes. The Appletree campuses are OK safety schools - I would make sure to add the OK Ave and the SE campuses. Miner is a good option for ECE and it should be on your list if you are inbound - just rank it lower if you are not as excited about it. I would recommend touring Friendship Chamberlain near the HT as another option. Payne, Mauery, Peabody, Van Ness, Brent have high demand of inbound kids and are not realistic out-of-bound options for ECE.

You need to watch the myschool video on ranking. This list order makes no sense.

If Brent and SWS are your “dream” schools, you need to put them at the top

I don’t understand why you wouldn’t list Miner. If you’re inbounds for Maury you’re walking distance to Miner. It has a good reputation for ece.

For PK3 last year we were IB for Peabody, no sibling. We ended up #30 on the waitlist with very little movement. So at least 30 or so inbound kids did not get into Peabody last year.

SWS is going to be in swing space for the next 2 years and they haven't said where yet. If commute matters a lot to you, I wouldn't list it, especially if your plan is to go to Maury for K. If you love SWS and would send your kid there no matter where it was and want to stay through 5th grade if you got in, I'd list it #1.

You don't request. You put in your address in myschooldc and it determines whether you have proximity based on the criteria.

There is no harm to putting the zero chance schools (schools that have never in recent memory taken a non-IB kid) and basically zero chance (citywide/charters where if you don't have the required lottery number to match at schools above them on your list -- for SWS and YY, Maury as an IB family; for AT LP, AT SW), but there's no point to listing them either. If I were you, I'd list Miner, which some OOB kids have gotten into to fill out EA classes, isn't inconvenient to you location wise and which I would 100% rather go to than AT (esp AT SW). Separately, I don't understand why you would put AT SW above AT LP given convenience factor + rep of respective campuses.
