CONGRATULATIONS !

My husband met with our FA this morning and he said you know you're a millionaire right ? I don't want to say how millionaire but my husband laughed and said yeah, I know. Then the FA said no one would ever suspect you were this comfortable. You come see me wearing work clothes and boots and no one knows.

My husband said I didn't know I was supposed to look the part. So funny.

Just want to say we are grateful for everything we worked for. Neither of us came from money. We made it the old fashioned way. We worked. Well that and God helped by keeping us spiritual. So thanks be to him too.

My net worth then was about $4 million. Yes, the numbers jumped pretty quickly. In 2008 after the market crash I probably was at barely a million. My net worth went up $1 million this year alone, and I'm not even working! Life is pretty good.

You could invest in any number of things other than stocks, or just hold cash, if you are convinced an impending market crash is about to destroy your wealth but are too lazy to figure out how to profit from a downturn.

As of today Personal Capital shows my net worth excluding home equity to be $5,022,088. Including home equity, it's $5,823,724. I, too, was in Biglaw. Retired 5 years ago in my early 50s.

Only in DCUM world would this be considered not great. Most of the population can only dream of having $1 million net worth, at any age.
