If you don't make too much money, ask government to help pay for daycare.

When we lived in Cleveland Park we ended up with an in home daycare in Takoma Park but I worked in Columbia, and had to do drop off and pickup. It was $250 a week. She was an amazing caregiver and we’re still friends with the families that were there, but that probably doesn’t work for you.

The cheapest that I know of in NW DC (and not near clear land park at all) is Barbara Chambers. They have a few locations. I think it’s around $1,200 or so- but may be mis-remembering the exact amount. I know a few people who have really loved it.

No in-home daycares that I could find in/near Cleveland Park. Look at the real estate prices! We pay $2240/month + $45 activity fee for daycare for my 1.5 year old. It cost more for an infant.

OP, unfortunately you aren't going to find anything for $1000 per month in Cleveland park. I'm in the MD suburbs (outside the beltway) and even the cheapest in-home daycare is at least $1200 a month.

daycare for 3 month old, possibly for 3 years...
all suggestions welcome

In that area, you are looking at at least $2,000/month for an infant, but likely much closer to $2,800 or so. Is there any other parts of the city you could make work, like NE?
