All this handwringing over “playing with friends” couldn’t be more overreacting poppycock.
Sorry about your October born kid. You never cared about the July and August kid before when your kids had the right Birthday.

I was a proponent of the switch to calendar year when it happened because of ease of use, but the reality is, the school year is better. When the kids are young, it keeps them happier to play with their classmates. When they get older, the combined age groups are a mess with calendar year and for those that are elite, they can play up anyway. As for matching the international rules, same argument applies, the elite players can play the grouping calendar doesn't matter.
play *up*

From coaches and people above my pay grade. It is rumored to happen as soon as this coming season. I do agree there will be an uproar however, really what what would everyone do? US soccer is a huge business that runs based on that. I don’t think they care what soccer parents want or “feel” they base it on what they feel is best for the over all business and how it effects there pockets or “development of the player” ? people might be upset but then what? Bottom line is everyone will do what is told for them to do because everyone’s child is the next Mia Hamm, right? ??
