Just trying to think of what the Russians will think when they see you carrying your FIVE YEAR OLD on your back. Much less in a stroller.

The essential issue here is that OP just needs to accept her child is only 5 and likely will not be able to do a full day of sight-seeing. That sounds miserable for all involved. I'd divide and conquer, and have one parent plan on taking her to a cafe or back to the boat when she gets tire.

Start preparing for the trip with increasingly long walking events to help little one’s legs get ready. Neighborhood, exploring in DC, walking tours in DC etc. you should be fine!

I too have a kid who can walk all day, but it's because he's at a nature preschool and they are hiking around trails all the time. Personally, as a kid, I was not a big walker and remember begging my parents to carry me. It will depend on the kid.

Make sure you have a few different pairs of good walking shoes as walking a lot in the same pair for days on end puts a lot more strain on your feet than varying your shoes.

Congratulations. You win for the first stupidest post of 2020.

NP. Five year olds can walk, as much as OP can.

This. Kid can walk, no reason why she can’t.

I was a die-hard stroller user (my kids were 17 months apart). By 5, they could handle all day walking with no issues whatsoever.

^^^ 100%, this was my experience as well.
