Subject: I feel like going to visit is much easier than having visitors
Last year we traveled and it was exhausting and it was a really stressful holiday. I couldn’t wait to leave.
This year we hosted family members and it was exhausting and stressful in different ways. I still prefer hosting to traveling. I was so happy to leave last year and this year I was counting down the days until everyone left.
It’s so much better to have a cozy Christmas with just immediate family. I really hope I can pull that off next year.

I like hosting because then I'm in control. If I want space, I can go to my bedroom or take a walk or get in the car and go somewhere. When I go visit my in-laws I'm stuck sleeping on their uncomfortable beds and eating their tasteless food and listening to the TV being on all day long. No thanks, I'll take spending $1,000 on food and liquor for a week in my own house any day.
