Oh, no! They can't do that! Farming is REAL work. It's not just sitting in front of a computer all day.
Can you imagine some city boy having to get up every morning at 4:30 to feed the cows. And then working in the fields all day.

I grew up on a farm. I hated summer vacation. It wasn't a vacation. I do like my indoor city job much much better.

Higher gas taxes would shift your gas-consumption behavior towards less driving and more efficient vehicles too.
