So what. Nothing being said is lie.
The lie is in how it was introduced. No one’s kid is sitting around wondering “gosh, if only SOMEONE in the area played as nicely as this ICC team”. That sounds ridiculous on its face.
The lie is in that no one else plays with a nice style. There are plenty of teams who do if one takes time to look around. But please keep the narrative up, gotta pad the pocketbook of your buddy at Sporting Global.
I have watched a lot of girls' soccer, including ECNL and DA. I watched PDA play the Barcelona team. PDA is considered by many a powerhouse. They have a long history of winning. In fact, on the boys' side, they are one of the very few non-MLS teams to be in the upper bracket of the boys' DA. They are good.
I was impressed by the quality of that Barcelona team and I didn't expect to be. Historically, European girls' teams weren't very good. The same tournament even 5 years ago would have given very different results. But that team, the skill, the way they moved the ball around, the way they dribbled, it was good. It was quality. Of course any girl watching would want to play like that, if she has eyes.
What this really makes one wonder is how Spain's WNT will look as girls like these move onto the rosters.
It definitely sounds like you have a mom or dad crush on Barca. And that’s ok. But it would be more honest to give yourself a handle so we know it’s coming instead of these sneaky little “Barca is the best” narrative topics that fall flat.
It's clear for some reason, you have an internal aversion whenever the Barca name comes up, and that's ok. But it would be more honest if you gave yourself a handle like "Barca is the worst, performance is irrelevant" . When I say I was surprised, I was. I would have bet money against them in a match against PDA. I don't really care what you believe. That's just how it is. And those ICC East and West teams were "dream teams" of the top ECNL players in those regions. How did neithe of them make it to the finals?
It's not because they were playing the Barca style either. Good players are good no matter what style they play. And if you can't honestly admit that, then you lack objectivity.
Anonymous wrote:Yes, good players are good no matter what tactics are used or are taught at their clubs. They can learn to dribble, attack, defend, and transition well no matter which club trains them. Many of the skills in display by the players were developed individually, in their own time, not by their clubs.
See, reasonable people can agree on this forum. Let’s appreciate the players and not the money factories that try to steal their thunder.

Anybody watch any of the ICC Futures games?
My daughter would have thought she was in heaven if we could have found a team in this area that played like that Barcelona team.
