That's funny. How would you ever know? And please don't tell me your DD tells you everything. You WERE once that age.

The assertion that a 15-yr-old girl who has intercourse is a victim doesn't seem to fit with the data. According to the Guttmacher data, 45% of girls report that the intercourse was something they wanted. Only 4% report that the intercourse was not wanted. 51% reported having mixed feelings.

Can you please share a citation to the CDC source that you claim says 6% of 15-yr-olds report intercourse? Here is a link to the Guttmacher Institute data, which indicates that 1 in 5 15-yr-olds report having had intercourse. Huge difference.

"In 2013, about one in five 15-year-olds and two-thirds of 18-year-olds reported having had sex (Figure 1).9"

And this intercourse isn't all happening in a serious relationship context-- "Among adolescents aged 15–19 in 2015–2017 who had had penile-vaginal sex, 75% of females and 48% of males reported that their first intercourse was with a steady partner.6"

https://www.guttmacher.org/fact-sheet/american-teens-sexual-and-reproductive-health?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-9Wfqs-95gIVS9yGCh381Ab3EAAYASAAEgLrB_D_BwE

If you look at Figure 1, you see that the line between 15 and 18 is very steep, meaning that teens aren't waiting till right before they turn 18 to start having sex. Rather, it's a steady climb between 15 to 17 years and 11 months. By they time they hit 18, 65% have had intercourse.

OP, you set up the boundaries of what normal and what not in YOUR family. I raised three girls (one still in school), and no, it was not normal in my family.

Oh please. Multiple partners at age 15 is a sign of sexual abuse or mental illness. Don't be so smug about your parenting. These cases are usually not about the girl's values but about a vulnerable child being exploited.

My best friend growing up had multiple partners at 15. She wasn’t abused. She was definitely mature for her age and really enjoyed sex. Went to college at 16, had a lot more partners.

No doubt she was sleeping with grown men at 15, 16. Which was abuse.

Actually she wasn't. They were all 15, 16, 17.

And careful. People say, "sex" and that can mean all kinds of different behavior. Having a relationship that has some sexual component does not necessarily mean they are having intercourse (of any kind)

It means gossip. That is what it is means.

I'm learning that freshman and sophmores are having sex without being in a relationship (and don't take it very seriously). We're in a decent MOCO high school. Probably not many with 5-6 partners, but these kids are definitely having sex at a young age.

This is not at all unusual or a sign of abuse. It might be, but so might be a 25-yr-old who has had sex with more than 1 person. And as for the people who think they are setting a family standard, you must know that your kids aren't necessarily on board with this, right? Why would they tell you anything if you'd set out some sort of abstinence code?

2.7% in 10th grade for women, 6.8% in 10th grade for men, according to the CDC data from 2015. (% having had intercourse with anyone) If accurate, that would indicate it is relatively unusual - something like 1 in 25. Multiple partners would obviously be lower probability than
that.

Data tells us kids today are having even less sex, and later in their teen hood, than you parents were having when you were teens. There’s this bizarre myth that kids get worse every year. Not true.
