We can see each other's location on google maps. My husband has clients all over town and heads home at different times. This way when he texts me he's on his way home I can see where he's coming from. It's also a safety thing too, it lets me see that he gets places safely. He can of course see my location too.

We have location sharing on. We both rarely look at it. But it does come in handy. DW can see that I have already left store before sending a text that says “Can you also grab...”

I travel a lot for work and she can see when I am still at a dinner meeting before calling.

Absolutely. It’s so convenient to know when to prepare dinner and when to expect people to arrive at places. We have geofences set up around work, home and school so we get notifications when people arrive/leave. Saves dozens of “when will you be home” calls.

Yes and it’s really practical. I can see if he’s still at the store shopping or if he’s picking up the kids or whatever and I don’t have to bother him to ask. Also I can see of he got in okay when traveling for work, etc. It’s innocent stuff and he does it for me too.

Same situation with me. I run by myself a lot, and now in the dark every evening. I have no desire to track him though.

I do. 90% of the time it is dinner related to see where he is in his commute -- when to boil pasts water/bake chicken/order pizza. When he cooks (rarely) he might do that too.

We also use it when we are meeting up. Like if he is picking me up from work I can keep an eye on it and pack up when it is a few minutes away and head to the lobby.

Much less distracting then a call or text just to say "Where ARE you?" which also implies a kind of naggy "get home!" vibe. Also safer when he is driving.

I don't find it creepy at all, but I don't use it in a creepy way.

Yes, to figure out when she'll be home. Last night, when the kids were going crazy, I check and see she's a block away. "Mom's coming in the door - go downstairs and meet her!" Actually, that's every night.

Define tracking? My husband set up an app for us all so we'd know where each other are in case of emergency. Its come in handy when I've gotten lost or my car has an issue, which is often. I can call the tow truck while he starts coming to get us. Do I look all the time? No. But, if he's late or I'm cooking dinner I may check. If I'm out late and don't hear my phone, he may check. It doesn't bother me at all. My kids want phones to track us. They think its cool to see where we are. If anything they use it more than we do on our phones to see where we are.

For what?

Everyone in our family (parents, kids) can track all our devices, mostly so that we know how far someone is away when dealing with pickup, rides home, etc. We use it fairly rarely.

My husband hates to talk while driving so it’s a very easy way for me to see where he is on his commute. I can then pull up Waze and see if the route is clear. He can track me all he wants as I have nothing to hide.
