He's right. You've had your time off parenting, try to get more rest at night when traveling for work so you are more refreshed when you get home

(FWIW, I prefer this both as the traveling spouse and as the at-home-solo spouse. The kids get way too riled up when a parent comes home at dinnertime, and bedtime is a nightmare no matter who’s in charge. Much better for the returning spouse to wake the kids up in the morning after everyone has had a good night’s sleep. )

Dh travels non stop. He loves it. Movies on the plane, comfy bed with clean sheets, eating dinner in a restaurant. No toddlers screaming and you can sleep through the night!! Yeah! You're doing something wrong

yes this should be the case.

My husband travels all the time and I work full-time and he knows the minute he walks through the door, he needs to be able to dive in. That said, I don't totally check out because I believe in team work. You need to try to take good care of yourself (eat as healthy as possible, exercise, avoid late nights drinking, excessive caffeine use) while you're on the road so that you can feel capable when you do return.

I (DW) travel M-Th every week. He's right. Thursday nights, kids are all my responsibility.

We are consistent at least. If you can’t jump back in after work travel, I think you need a new job.

He is right, it is your job to use your flight/travel home as the decompress. Take care of the kids, then go to bed when they do so you can wake up rested the next day.
