My daughter was invited to 4 and went to 3. They were eye opening and really helped with the decision. It was a shoe in to a college not even on her radar but her counselor made her apply. She was not an athletic recruit or a URM.

You can call and check. A small LAC that really needs kids to apply might. But, the Oberlin, Kenyon, Grinnell, Macalaster, etc. LACs my kid has looked at have junior visit DAY, which is an 8-4 thing and included a full parental program and a parent or parents attend too. They don’t offer overnights until senior year. It’s a lot of work for the school. They don’t want to host kids unless they are pretty sure the kid has a college list in place.

My DC did one at Kenyon too. Stayed with a friend but the admissions office arranged transportation from the airport and access to dining halls. If DC didn’t have a friend there they would have arranged an overnight. DC wasn’t a recruited student - ended up waitlisted.

Two years ago, Christopher Newport did an overnight for admitted students (my DS graduated from HS in 2018.) He was going to do the overnight (we signed him up for it) but then before the weekend, he had decided to attend one of the other schools he had been admitted to.

Notre Dame does...it's called the Reilly visit and they invite the best of the best....probably to try to woo them away from the ivies.

She had high stats and is not a URM.

There are such programs where you mu apply first. But she didn’t apply for these at all. They had her test scores though since we sent them very early.
