To be precise, it's 3.2 ounces, which is less than a half cup of water.

Don't you all pee before getting on the scale??

your missing the point. Even if you pee you can be retaining a little water. 0.2lbs is not a big deal.

I recently hit my all-time high weight after realizing that I'm just packing on pounds in my 40s though my eating habits hasn't changed on the whole in years. I do love food, but I need to look at it differently. In order to lose the weight (and it is taking longer than it did to gain it), I have to commit to eating well 90% of the time and being selective during the remaining 10%. My office offers Weight Watchers, and I chose the green plan (only non-starchy veggies and fruits are zero points - everything else has a point value that I have to monitor). I started 3 weeks ago, and the first week I committed to just following the plan and seeing what happened. It went well, and I am committed to continuing. I am taking a non-emotional approach to food and meditating through parts of my day when I want a snack. I am also trying to work out 30 minutes a day between my rowing machine and TRX system. My family and coworkers are very supportive, and aside from Thanksgiving, I have been keeping up with the food tracking program and being highly aware of my choices. I have a goal to lose 40 pounds but a bigger goal to be healthy in the coming years when my body continues to forget how to do it on its own (sigh...). This is now a lifetime commitment based on a changed routine, and I have to seek emotional satisfaction in things other than a serving of ice cream or half a bottle of wine. I'm trying not to lament the loss of food I'm not eating (like that handful of pretzels before dinner or chocolate chips after) and take joy in a warm cup of tea while I read or having my son work out with me to pass the time. I am sleeping better and am overall more even in my temperament. So far, I am down 5+ pounds from when I started WW, but I'm trying to keep in mind that this is a long journey with no permanent off-ramps.

When I am in a mood of enjoying food that would be over 1500 to 2000 calories, I basically go OMAD. Cut everything else for that day and truly enjoy the food. I gained one lb during thanksgiving which I lost quickly within a few days by keeping this habit.

Enjoying food and being overweight are not synonyms. I actually find that people that truly enjoy food are able to regulate their eating habits in order to enjoy good food.

But food is one of life's great pleasures! If you don't know this, I feel sorry for you.

You’ll never lose and maintain significant weight until you get over food and establish good and consistent habits.

A grown adult doesn’t need snacks.

Develop other interests and focus outside of food. I lost and maintained 10-15 lbs by simply getting over food. I try not to think about it and eat sensible meals.
