Yes, and call soon . . . before they secede from MCPS.

Can we please stop with the unhelpful comments. OP here -- it's a W feeder middle school I'm writing about fwiw.
There are people starving across the planet. Homeless in frigid climates with limited means to keep warm. Bombs dropping all round people in the middle east. And you want us to care about the minor inconveniences at your W feeder school? Pretty sure there are kids wiping their asses with leaves in some places.

You should be celebrating. You won the birth lottery.

This is a stupid comment. You are on DCUM on the MD Public Schools thread. It is reasonable for people spending one of the highest amounts per pupil in the world to expect that their child will be able to maintain basic hygiene in school. That is not something that people should be embarrassed about.
What I've learned on this forum is that you should expect nothing and accept everything from mcps. All your are promised is a public place to keep and potentially educate your children while you are at work. If hygiene is a priority it is reasonable to expect that people spending the highest amounts on anything can afford to properly equip their child with the necessary sanitizing equipment.

They can’t stop, OP. They are motivated by terror.

Why don’t your kids tell the front office at school or a teacher? It may be they need to refresh the bathrooms earlier than they have been.

I taught at Tilden. No paper towels or soap there. My DD was at North Bethesda for a math event. They didn’t have those supplies either. It’s a countywide issue and has been since at least the 1980s. My DD says her uncles talked about their W high school lacking toilet paper. People would drop the whole roll in the toilets and urinals as a joke.

I remember never having soap or paper towels or toilet paper either. Everyone knew you brought your own. The worst was that all the mirrors got ripped off and replaced with polished metal. You can’t see anything in polished metal.

When I was in middle school, kids would wad up paper towels, run them under water and toss them to the ceiling. It looked like very thick stucco after 3 years.

Yes, I remember my middle school got a citation from the Fire Marshall for this.

Notify the office
Soap leaves for my kid
Teach kid to shake excess water off, wipe on pants and then air dry. Send hand lotion for chapped hands.

Our elementary school office ignored me the few times I walked in and brought it to their attention. - no soap, no paper towels. Their attitude was, "oh well ..."

It made the worst impression. A lasting poor impression.
