I'm not, but unless OP uses the chat feature, he/she will be talking out loud. And it's a fact that people talk louder on cell phones than they do on regular phones or IRL (because of the lack of feedback). Imagine sitting next to someone on a plane yacking on a conference call. Yuck. Headphones and the chat function would be okay, but I'd worry about bandwidth.

Also, I've often heard people complaining about speakerphone/FaceTime use in public. What do you mean, "no one" calls it out? It's super rude.

I've done Skype video on a plane, but it's rough. Some airlines block the ports for video, others simply don't have the bandwidth.

If you can get a mobile phone signal though, you can usually call in Audio only.

It is annoying to seatmates though.

Zoom has such bad security. Only a person actively trying to get robbed downloads zoom. I am appalled that so many college and schools are using it.

I've participated in WebEx calls while flying. All I did was announce myself (my seat mate was my husband, luckily) and the rest of the call I was silent and just listened in. This was on Southwest and I was able to view the presentation and hear 99% of the call.

I think the wifi would be really iffy - I have trouble with Zoom sometimes in my home especially if a lot of people are on the call and we have generally good wifi - but I think you could reasonably participate by listening in on headphones and contributing through chat rather than trying to talk. That's how I do it when I can't get to a private space and it's always worked fine, as long as everyone remembers to keep the chat box open.

Absolutely rude plus I know my company would look very poorly on me broadcasting company business to an entire plane load of people. Don't you get the training about not talking about your business in any public place.

It would be better to have it rescheduled, or failing that, to send in your report ahead of time so it can be read during the meeting. This is what I do, and for delicate matters, I ask a trusted colleague to push for what I want
