This—you have no idea if the previous owner just reset the light when it came on. Better to have a fresh start.
Even if you reset it, it comes on every time you start the car until it's changed. While it could be a good idea to get the oil changed for a piece of mind, it's not necessary at 40%
No, when you reset it the light doesn't come on anymore until it goes back to 15%. That's why people reset it. The warning light is just programmed to come on when the level (not really the level) is at a certain number.
