MDI is one of my family's favorite places to vacation, but I'm not sure why we're trying to talk OP into it if she thinks it doesn't look like something her family would enjoy. It's already crowded enough.

If you can't tell, I find the "you all say this place is great, but I looked on line and it seems really boring, so please talk me into it" posts to be annoying. Next time, we should just all agree that OP really really needs to go somewhere else.

Ships Harbor and Wonderland are each circular walks, less than a mile so not a hike, flat, with rocks to scamper in at the end + tide pools explore. They are near each other but different. TONS of ranger programs and stuff to do. My dream is to spend entire summers in Acadia...

Bar Harbor Inn - beautiful location on the water. The heated pool has wonderful ocean views and great for relaxing in the afternoon. Breakfast was fabulous there.
