It's been three weeks since the last post on this topic. Any news or updates on how this works? How are the at-large teams selected? Will the games be played in addition to league games? Cost? Anything?

I mean there are tons of people that think highly of NCSL the way it is. You think they would at least do a better job at trying to explain and sell this Super Group crap that will probably end up being some sort of money grab.

What age groups? U9? Or is this just older teams?

NCSL is taking applications for the Super Group. There is some info on their web site. I think they would like to see some higher level teams from other leagues apply (EDP, CCL etc). It sounds like the target is to have 4 NCSL teams and 6 At Large teams. I'm bumping this back up. Any one know anything more about this now that the season is over? How do "they" select the "at-large" teams? Are these games in addition to regular league play? Is their a fee to enter the Super Group?

Last year, the 07 state cup was won by SYC against Alexandria. McLean may have made semis and if so that was their current ECNL team that may have been playing in NCSL only b/c they are not CCL I. (Not CCL guy).


Correct. Then the Alexandria team won the regional for east coast.

Not 100% but pretty sure only champion of state cup goes to regionals. Finalist does not get a bid. It appears that rather then taking the finalist of state cup, now there is a post season playoff of all these other leagues top finisher to get a second bid.
