My dad was born in 1950 and there are pics of him and his siblings in matching pajamas. I’ll have to ask my grandma if she did that too.

So American started being weird mid-Century. Perhaps before. Good to know.

We don't take photos, but we always do Christmas jammies. It's fun.

I think it depends what kind you get. The tight ones... probably age 10. The looser flannel ones, however old they’re comfortable with being in a photo. My oldest boy is 10 and we always get the flannel ones. I only post pics to close family/friends and don’t do pj pics on cards.

Never! My extended family just bought matching PJs for our kids for our family reunion - ranging in age from 2 months to 23. The teenagers/young adults were super into it!

Anonymous wrote:It's actually fine if PJ's aren't those tight legged ones. Flannel ones that kids approve? Fine.

We have a rule in general that we don't post pictures of kids without their consent and they would definitely not consent to tight PJs , but matching xmas sweatpants or something? Perhaps.

Good point about the tight ones being more babyish than the flannel or fleece ones. OP, how does your kid feel about it?

I think it’s sweet for families to get matching pajamas at any age. It’s fun and cozy to open presents in Christmas pajamas. There’s no age limit.

However, for taking a picture and using it on your Christmas card? That’s only cute for very little kids. No adults, no kids aged in the double digits. This is something that can get weird very fast.

I assumed OP meant for holiday card? But not sure.

Fine until adulthood. Seeing family photos on FB with my 62 year old boss in matching PJs was a little much.

The age they stop wanting to do it.
Seems pretty simple. Everyone has their 'limit'. I would still do it with my sisters but DH would rather die.

Who cares what your friend thinks? I would say it's up to your kid.

+1

By 11, the kid can give consent. If he/she is ok with it then go for it.

This exactly.
