Sure, but it’s DC so that’s not going to happen.
Liberal cities get what they deserve. If you want to live in DC, deal. I went kicking and screaming to Arlington and when I saw my kids’ school, I never looked back.
Arlington boasts a 75.8% Democratic population.

I disagree that Cheh is all that fair, smart and polite (she can be quite dismissive). But I vehemently agree that Cheh would be a far better mayor than “Marion Bowser.”

To distract from rising crime and inequality issues, she's clearly now all about blaming Ward 3 for all of the city's ills (witness her proposal that anyone who opposes her impossible housing plan be "shamed"). I cannot wait until she's forced out by the inevitable scandal that I'm sure is right around the corner, almost certainly involving bribes from developers.
The new Comprehensive Plan proposals from Bowser’s office of planning (OP),are very interesting to read and compare. Lots of changes would override existing plan elements in Ward 3 that require regulators to consider the impact of large development on nearby neighborhoods and impact on infrastructure like streets, school capacity and parks. Bowser’s OP wants to upzone height and density in many Ward 3 neighborhoods including historic districts. Yet in the Ward 4 specific comp plan elements, OP is promoting all sorts to new provisions to preserve neighborhood character, preserve green space and view sheds, protect historic resources, ensure that new development reflects scale and density of neighborhood. Ward 4 is Bowser’s home and original political base, and the difference is OP proposals is striking.

Almost all of the other schools in the city were renovated before the ones in Ward 3. Eaton had to be done before the homeless shelter came online.
Honestly...Eaton got pushed down many times as did Murch from when they were supposed to be renovated. Pulling strings was simply to get the initial plan done.
Cheh is so meh to me but at least she's not corrupt. I honestly feel like she does what she thinks is best. And...I don't think she fought hard enough for Murch's renovation to happen
Cheh’s problem is that she always thinks she knows best and gives short shrift to anyone with a different opinion. I used to assume that she must be intelligent as a professor, but I’ve talked with her a number of times over the years and concluded that she is far mire stubborn than smart.
