We have Bali motorized shades. Purchased from Steve’s Blinds online. They will connect you with someone local to measure/install if you want.

I used these in our weekend home because they're cheap. They are cheap, but they're also hideous and won't last.

DP and I've had them in my daily home for 5 years with little kids constantly messing with them. They last.

FWIW, it’s not that much less expensive. Buying fabric by the yard isn’t cheap, even with internet discounters. Someone still has to measure, cut and ship it. Plus it’s expensive to stock all those fabrics, it’s not like they’re made on demand. By the time you’ve bought the fabric, the lining, the interlining and all the notions you’re only saving a few hundred bucks in labor.

+ 1 to the person who recommended Amazon for roller shades. I got them for about $75/window. Also, I’ve found some nice shades from Pottery Barn for $300/window, which is still cheaper than some of these next day blinds type places.

I don’t think it’s a racket. Window treatments are expensive because most aren’t made in China since they are custom. They also require the labor to install. If you want to save money have standard sized windows and you can buy Chinese made shades or blinds from Home Depot.

Try Select Blinds. You’ll have to measure and install yourself but it’s easy to do and will save you money.

I've had good luck with selectblinds.com for cellular black out shades.
