Once FCV implodes from its coach/player sleepover and hotel room scandals they will be tier 1 teams.

What is the 2-tier system? Does this apply to both boys and girls?

The new 2-tier DA system is not worth it for 2nd-tier teams such as VDA and potentially Arlington. They should get out.

I would not be surprised if Arlington goes that route if they don't get full DA for boys

They can't. VDA has full Da. Arlington doesn't. So if they make any change, it is to move the boys to the ECNL. They may also ride it out.

Also, everyone knows the whole ECNL/DA conflict is political on all sides. US Soccer may have made them some sort of promise.

Will they be switching to ECNL? Doubt it

Will the boys side get a full DA? Doubt it

I've seen some clubs in that situation have a girls DA and a boys ECNL. They could go that route. I think Penn Fusion does that.

The declarative statements about clubs, coaches and future of soccer is quite humorous ... if it wasn't so sad. Hard to believe so many people - especially in girls soccer - are living and dying by this.

2011 Girls Green - Finalists

2008 Girls Green - Finalists
2007 Girls ECNL - Champions
2005 Girls ECNL - Finalist
2005 Girls Green - Champions
2004 Girls ECNL- Champions
2003 Girls ECNL- Champions

Discovery cup is a mediocre tournament at best.

Mediocre is what McLean does. Boys ECNL is a disaster - only one team in top half of table.

I think if FCV moves to Springfield they will survive and stay the same. The older kids will stay and make the drive. Probably 1/2 of the younger kids have parents willing to sacrifice everything to stay with FCV. The other half will be replaced by top kids from the Springfield/Alexandria area where they don't have a ECNL/DA team close by. I think FCV will maintain stats quo. Loudoun will get stronger because those not willing to make the drive will go there. Who will suffer? BRYC? Do they get kids from Springfield?

it doesn’t help FCV at all. BRYC always had pull from Springfield and Alexandria, the problem is not enough talent in that area is FCV was smart they should have moved to Maryland. After Wags its obvious all the good teams are up north

Would be nice if the DA program directors/clubs would address these rumors head on.

(Some one snuck one in before me (don't include that one in your 3))

Agreed. It will be interesting to say the least. What are the chances they move to Springfield next year? Anyone have any insight?

I heard while back that they might switch to ECNL, but who knows.
