As far as impact and outreach, I think Meghan killed it. Her speeches, skilled engagements, and personal warmth went over extremely well.
+1
But I think Meghan deliberately dressed down and rewore outfits so as to avoid scrutiny on her wardrobe and its expense.
As far as the two duchesses go, Meghan comes off as by far the more accomplished, professional, and successful of the two which is weird considering Kate has been doing this for 8 years longer.
Meghan is much better at engaging with regular people and articulating her thoughts.
You know what I want? Some reporter SOMEWHERE to legitimately question why a 12-year-old is a better princess/speaker than Kate. Not even duchess-to-duchesss.
Here is 12-year-old Infanta of Spain giving a speech today.
Here is 38-year-old Kate doing the same thing yesterday.
Kate is an empty headed vessel for birthing babies. That's it. That's all you can expect out of her.

Do you mean the fact that she doesn't have any friends?
Is that the fault of the BRF? Is it her own?

Honestly...I think that's William and Kate's fault. They spent the first seven years of their marriage hiding out, avoiding any semblance of being full-time royals (PRE-kids especially), and their tours are just lacking.
Now they're not getting 1/3rd the media coverage of the successful brother-and-SIL they want to change that. Too little, too late.
Here is CNN touting 'Kate's first interview since joining the Royal family'. Tell me...does this look and sound like someone you're dying to get a second interview from?

Too little, too late? They're not dying. They'll continue to be in the news, now and in the future. For better or worse.
(I think it was very smart of them to hide. I wouldn't be surprised if they realize that and go back to hiding soon enough.)
