Not with pjs. I think that’s pretty common. Clean underwear goes on in the morning when they get dressed.

They weren’t pajamas and weren’t “slept in”, but were very pajama-like in terms of softness. I wanted them to be comfy all day and especially during nap. I never understood parents who put coarse-looking jeans or high boots or other constrictive clothes in kids.
Op, perhaps, you are annoyed because it is simply aesthetic, you like a more put together, effort made, fresh look, which can also be comfy?
