Glad you saved your suicidal DC and thus gave the humanity an opportunity to benefit from the future contributions of that Stanford grad.

South Carolina. Attended in scholarship. Left lots of money for sorority, spring breaks, low cost of living meant she had a great apartment for years 2-4 and she got into the grad school of her choice with great grades.

Virginia Tech. School is not for everyone. Not loving the whole admit too many freshman. But internships, career center, opportunities on campus, jobs on campus.

DP. Are you asking to be educated by the OP how this information is useful or are you showing your smartassness?

Bucknell University. Awesome experience, internships, research, worked closely with professors as they have a very small graduate school and all classes were small.

My son is at Rice and loves it. He didn't want the crazy competitiveness of East Coast Ivys. The residential colleges are fantastic.

My kids went to large SEC schools. Three different schools. They all loved their college experiences.

Loved how much she could pile on the work and drown in whatever research interested her. Loved the support of her colleagues. Loved the Midwest friendliness. Loved the coffee shops in every nook and cranny, all with their distinctive personalities. Sometimes a big research U is the right choice.

Why not go big in grad school?

Michigan. It wasn't DC's first choice but in retrospect DC thinks it should have been. Excellent academics and despite what some say about not focusing on undergraduates DC had good relationships with professors and plenty of small classes from top professors. DC loved Ann Arbor and Big 10 sports. DC is a self starter so being in a big school was totally fine, maybe it wouldn't be for everyone but being able to navigate that is not a bad life skill to have. DC got a very good, and well paid, job and the alumni connections definitely helped.
