Is there something she enjoys that you're not crazy about? Could you get tickets for the opera, ballet, a women's gymnastic or ice skating competition, a couple's package at a spa, a concert by a singer she loves? All these only count if she enjoys them a lot more than you do.

Do you know her taste for jewelry? I feel like going to a shop that sells nice antique jewelry and finding something really unique is more special than just “here’s a big rock!” But I know other women like a big rock and hate antique stuff. I’m imagining something from the 20’s, Art Deco, with platinum and emeralds. Very downtown Abby. But maybe not for everyone.
Does she like shows? Maybe a weekend in NYC with a broadway show?
Or just a long weekend away? Hearing great things about the Puerto Rico ritz dorado on the travel forum!

Go online and get a few ideas. Not that hard...

+1 Early in our marriage my husband would buy me jewelry but then he realized that jewelry and clothes decisions should be left up to the person wearing it.
