I don't see any scooters in the pedestrian directions.
They were definitely there on Saturday. Maybe there are no scooters near you at the moment. I hate it - if I want to walk, I want to walk - I don't want to see a scooter option under "walking."
PP you're responding to. No, I asked for directions where there are scooters.
Plus, if you didn't want to use a scooter, all you would have to do is disregard the scooter option?
Google is partnering with Lime. So maybe not all scooter brands, but it is expanding. And it's awful.
It would be one thing if it offered a scooter tab (like it does with cars, public transportation, etc) but it overlaps suggested scooter routes with walking routes at the same time, and it's definitely obnoxious. Scooters are closer to bikes than walking and should not be in the same category as a pedestrian.

I think they prompt an instinct to take your eyes off the road to check the spedometer and/or to hit the brakes, both of which could potentially be hazardous. Not if you don't speed. So just make it a habit to not speed. Then you don't have to worry about speed cameras.

If you live in DC then you'd know there are tons of cameras set up as literal cash grabs so it's not everyone intentionally speeding through slow zones.
No, there are not. They are there for safety and have improved safety.
I'd be happy to have the money sent to help poor children in Bangladesh, but thats probably not going to happen.
Safety, my keister. There was just a news report that they overcharged thousands of people and refuse to give back the money in DC.
Red light cameras increase rear end collisions. Speed cameras are concentrated on commuter routes. Both are government gangster rackets operated for a profit by big corporations.
