Subject: Swing set safety - did you put down rubber mulch?
We have rubber mulch and it’s awesome. It doesn’t stink, and it’s not hot. It’s much softer on the feet so they can play barefoot on the play set.
It was an investment up front but we’ve never had to add or replace it in 5 years.

Grass the entire time we had it. When we took it out/sold it when the kids aged out, we just planted seed/put down sod.

Rubber mulch stinks and probably contains carcinogens. So no, I wouldn’t.
