My kid is a junior and her summer SSL hours are now posted on the MyMCPS portal. 100+ hours earned this summer brought her total up to 450 hours. A fairly decent number in a highly competitive school. It will probably earn her a spot on several Honor Society too.

It's in MyMCPS Portal, on the Grade History page.

As I said, the school provides enough BS opportunities at school so my kids can get their hours. And they also get plenty of opportunity to discuss meaningful work at our dinner table. So don't worry, they will graduate and do just fine in life!

The SSL requirement doesn't apply to your family, it applies to the MCPS students in your family.

Also, it's a state requirement. And if the MCPS students in your family don't complete the requirement, they won't be able to graduate from high school."

^^ my kid had his sent back to him last year being told the comments sections were insufficiently filled in - so I would do it, the scrutiny will depend on your school
