Both it is very unlikely that if your kid is on VDA they were close to making Loudoun or FCV. VDA is where everyone goes that didnt make a better team - even a closer team.

They are able to consolidate talent because unless you are willing to drive far away 4 days a week it's your only real option. If you live in Fairfax you have McLean, BRYC, Metro United and even Bethesda, Arlington, Loudoun and FCV aren't too far away depending on where in Fairfax you live. VDA is a serious haul though
They are starting to have success in the younger age groups. The 06 team will presumably stay pretty strong even if they lose a few starters in years to come. Hopefully people will overlook that their older teams are weak (why?)
Why would a team that strong lose starters? To who?
They will leave for McLean bryc soon enough. You’ll see.
That doesn't answer why. If they are on a very strong team why would they leave for a weaker team?
College recruiting - new club v clubs with proven track records of placing players in top universities
Zero college coaches on the VDA sideline at showcases and tournaments. Unless they are watching the VDA opponent.

VDA will not have a problem placing or promoting their players.

Players do all the heavy lifting regarding recruiting. Clubs simply sit back and take the credit.
