It might be more the case of "am I a bad mother/father to leave my kid who JUST got stitches and go on this important business trip?" VS "I don't think my partner can handle this."

If so, let me say... go! No guilt allowed!

There might come a time when it's important and appropriate to cancel a major business trip but I don't think this is it.

And if you don't trust them, you have major issues going on.

Yes.

My 3 YO got stitches right in the middle of her forehead. I took them out myself at the instructed time. She was fine, never even needed as much as a dose of Tylenol during the whole injury/recovery period.

Why do you think they can’t manage stitches without you? Are you looking for an excuse to get out of the trip?

Non-snarky question from an MD...OP are you worried that DC has a delayed head injury and needs to be watched? Are you concerned that the suture removal will be delayed? Totally ok if you're not sure and you're just rattled that kiddo needed stitches, I would be too. Just wondering if it's clear what the issue is. Fwiw sounds like you're fine to go on your trip (based on what you described).
