I will now imagine that DC's singletons will be roaming around at night pulling creepy little pranks on their neighbors, per your curious suggestion. Thank you for making me laugh.

Last night I had dinner and a beer and an early bedtime. Tonight I'll go to the Baltimore Playhouse. Kind of a young crowd, but it's fun.

This. Go to a wine tasting. Join a hiking club (or knitting or book club), take a class through smithsonian.edu on something that catches your fancy.
Yes, this. I went to MGM by myself, because I like gambling. I wasn’t there to meet people or socialize, but certainly could have.

My life is too busy with work/kids/home life activities to spend time dedicated to a singles event. Instead I try to incorporate group activities into what I would normally do. So, instead of going for a run by myself, I go with a running group. Instead of going to a gym, I joined a local crew club and row. I also think it’s easier to meet people with similar interests when you are both doing that activity.

Why does it have to be a quick dinner? Why does it have to be on the early side? There’s no curfew for women. We are allowed to linger as long as we want over dinner and drinks. It doesn’t make us loose floozies.
