Great advice and also be open to playing little pranks on strangers that keep you entertained. One I have really enjoyed is finding a large-ish, broken-off tree branch (a fairly light one) and then behind my apartment building and the one next to it, raking it across people's first floor windows at night. People freak out! I like to think they look skeleton fingers. They must be scared! LOL

So, instead of going for a run by myself, I go with a running group. Instead of going to a gym, I joined a local crew club and row. I also think it’s easier to meet people with similar interests when you are both doing that activity.

This. Go to a wine tasting. Join a hiking club (or knitting or book club), take a class through smithsonian.edu on something that catches your fancy.

How old and what location?
