Subject: Uber or Lyft? Which is better for smaller distances? Customer service? Quick pickup times?
My friend drives for both and she said these days she's almost always on Uber because they pay more.

Uber has NO customer service. If you have a problem or issue that needs fixing that’s just going to be tough luck.
There’s no phone number to call , you just get to email some bratty people in another country who will most likely tell you ‘tough luck’.
For the first issue they’ll give you a $5 credit, after that they just laugh - no matter the issue.
I vote Lyft.

Lyft. Drivers told me they greatly preferred Lyft.
