UGHHH I was just on this shuttle with my 2 and 4 year old and I am pregnant. Of course we were the last to board (waiting for gate checked luggage on the tarmac) and nobody gave us a seat. Disagree. And I travel a lot with my toddlers. Put the kids in the stroller. Lock the stroller wheels. Check the luggage.


NP and you may travel a lot but clearly haven't on the 35X shuttle, as there is definitely no room to spare on that thing and certainly not enough to have an unfolded stroller (that mom would then have to bodily lift up and down to the ground, since there's no ramp). PP is right, small kids who can easily be knocked down by someone's shoulder bag or stepped on by an adult who doesn't notice them need the seats way more than able-bodied adults. And, IME on the 35X shuttle and the Dulles "people movers," people often do offer up seats to my kids.

If there are enough seats for adults, no.

If there are not enough seats for adults, absolutely. Adults get seats before kids. I would always put my kid on my lap before taking a seat away from an adult. I find it really rude and odd when others do not.

It’s an airport shuttle. Everyone on it is riding for free.

My 4 yo loves to sit in his own seat on the metro and shuttle buses etc. He's a person, and if there is an empty seat we will take it.

A 2 or 3 year old has to pay full price for an airplane seat.

Whoever gets there first gets the seat unless there is someone with an obvious physical disability. I’d give my seat to a small child though. It can be difficult to stand on a rocking shuttle bus, and I’d rather that kid not end up on the floor.
