I'm sorry, OP. My then three year old ended up in the ER and then admitted to Children's for immune thrombocytopenia. They are really excellent there. (He's totally fine now but it was stressful.) i hope the stay is brief and your child bounces back quickly.

Oh man, I'm sorry OP. If I was your friend I totally would have taken on a 2yo for the night so you could go to the hospital. Next time ask a friend to take the little - if the older kid was admitted it was definitely serious enough to ask for favors and friends are generally happy to help.

DH is staying at the hospital. Not sure the sleeping situation for DH. Assuming there is a sofa or chair he can sleep on.

If your DC was admitted to Children's, there is usually a sofabed and recliner in each room for the parents to stay on. Unless there is an urgent medical reason your DC would have to be alone, the doctors encourage parents to stay with the kids. OP, sorry you are going through this - my toddler had to be admitted to Children's once for asthma complications and it was very scary for all of us, but they did a great job.

Can you share more facts? And hope your DC is ok!
