A pedestrian was hit in a crosswalk.

“It was at 18th and Mass NW. The man was an older black man, probably in his 60s. The biker was on wrong side of road when he hit the man. The biker was in blue but I didn’t see his face. He stopped briefly to look behind him but then kept going.
A crowd of bystanders was with the man until EMS came. He had lost consciousness and huge bump on his head.”


We were on our way home and got caught in it on upper GA Avenue. They were absolutely not endangering only themselves. By speeding on the wrong side of the road, veering onto the sidewalks and beyond (yes, there were many driving directly in a small park in the middle of a block), doing donuts in the middle of intersections, and completely ignoring all traffic signals, they were putting all others in the vicinity in harm's way, especially pedestrians.

They're only committing traffic violations. Not even a misdemeanor criminal offense. What are police supposed to do in your world? Chase them? Shoot them? Beat them like Rodney King?

They're not hurting anyone. The only people they're endangering are themselves. So let them be. If cops chased them, they'd likely get into a crash with some other motorist. I'd sue the police if some kid they were chasing crashed into me trying to get away.
