Ultimately, yes, sounds like quite the scam. But that's the kind of thing you discuss and decide TOGETHER; you don't just barrel over her and say, "I'm the man here and I've decided that the little woman here is getting duped."
It would have taken you 5 minutes to pull her aside and show her some Google results and tell her that you are half of this decision-making process, and you are 0 percent comfortable and are in no way going to agree to anything within mere hours of starting this discussion.

OP she was falling for it. Guy gave discounts off sky high prices and did pretend to call manager to get more, turns out he can on a Saturday so I would be home now all at once it was two against one. Fighting off salesman while trying to stop wife who wanted to buy cause the price only good today,
